Sit back, sip, and savour, as we share how to celebrate World Cocktail Day with our favourite picks from a unique Kent-inspired cocktail menu packed with originality.

A TOAST TO KENTISH TRADITION—WITH A TWIST

The new cocktail menu is a love letter to Kent. Paying homage to its unique culinary heritage and taking you on a flavour-packed journey through some historic pudding recipes associated with the area. Kentish classic desserts inspire the lineup of cocktails including Canterbury Pudding, Kent Lent Pie and Gypsy Tart. Yes, it’s as delicious as it sounds. Think drinkable desserts, elegantly elevated. You will only be able to enjoy this unique Kent-inspired cocktail menu at a unique Kent cocktail bar – so welcome to The Bay Tree Bar and Grill!

Standouts include:

Gypsy Tart – Modelled on a traditional British dessert, particularly associated with the county of Kent, which features a shortcrust pastry base, and a filling made from evaporated milk and dark muscovado sugar. The cocktail version features Vela vodka, butterscotch, Kahlúa, oat milk, and a hint of nutmeg, resulting in a rich and silky cocktail with just the right amount of naughtiness.

Kent Lent Pie – Another Kentish heritage-inspired sweet treat, this unique creation incorporates White Cliffs gin, Gonzalez Byass PX sherry, cream, egg white, lemon, lime, vanilla, and Fever-Tree soda water for an aromatic mix that will leave you wanting more.

Apple & Raspberry Crumble – Who doesn’t love an apple crumble at any time of year, and why not add in some tangy raspberry to cut through all that sweetness? This drink-based version balances sweet Kent apple juice with the refreshing flavours of raspberry and lime.

Canterbury Pudding – A heady mix of cherry brandy and Martell VS with Angostura bitters results in something both bold and beautifully balanced in the glass.

These aren’t your average after-dinner drinks. They’re desserts worth dressing up for.

HAPPY HOUR, HAPPIER GUESTS

Looking for the perfect excuse to sip more for less? The Bay Tree Bar & Grill’s Happy Hour runs Friday to Sunday from 4:30–6:30pm, with two of the same cocktails for just £16. Bring a friend with similar taste—or double up on your favourite. There’s no judgment here.

Top Happy Hour picks from our cocktail menu include:

Strawberry & Basil Smash – Fresh, bright, and zesty, this one is a real crowd-pleaser, especially on a bright and sunny day.

Lavender Cosmo – A delicate floral twist on a retro classic, complete with lavender foam. What’s not to love?

Cherry Batter Pudding – taking inspiration from this deliciously soft, spongy pudding dotted with juicy cherries, this mix of Amaretto, Kent apple juice, and maraschino cherries results in a deliciously moreish blend.

FULL FLAVOUR NO HEADACHE

If you’re a teetotaller, cutting back, a designated driver, or not in the mood for alcohol, then the new mocktail menu is just as enticing as its spirited counterpart. Each of the new mocktails is crafted with the same level of care and creativity, stylish choices packed with flavour.

Must-try favourites include:

  • Garden Cooler – pineapple juice, passionfruit, orgeat, and elderflower. Enjoy a burst of tropical freshness.
  • Espresso Martin-No – blending segafredo espresso, vanilla syrup, and orgeat syrup for an alcohol-free take on a classic that’s ideal for those who want sophistication without the fuzzy head.
  • Tropical Passion – Passionfruit purée, cranberry, cherry syrup, vanilla, lime, and a splash of soda. Sweet, complex, and seriously refreshing.
  • Virgin Apple Mojito – Crisp, minty and sparkling with Kingsdown apple pressé. A refreshing summer cocktail with a Kentish apple twist.

A COCKTAIL FOR EVERY TASTE

Beyond the dessert-inspired signature serves, mocktails, and Happy Hour picks, the extensive menu features a range of classic cocktails, innovative twists on Martinis and Negronis, and seasonal showpieces that reflect the time of year. Plant-based options are also marked, allowing everyone to enjoy the menu guilt-free.
