At the Burlington Hotel we have long been committed to the importance of protecting the environment, and implementing practices that are both sustainable and reduce our carbon footprint
From continually looking at ways to reduce our electricity usage, to working with local suppliers and reducing our landfill, the need to protect our environment has never been more important.
We are fortunate to be able to support some fantastic local producers of food and drinks. Promoting seasonality and reducing delivery mileage, and utilising the hotel’s herb garden to garnish a range of meals and cocktails in the Bay Tree Bar & Grill.
Linking with a local linen provider with a proven sustainability programme that makes them one of Europe’s leaders in cutting edge technology using heat exchangers and water bore holes.
Housekeeping make use of an eco friendly range of chemicals and micro fibre clothes, as well as communicating a towel and water usage policy to our guests. Our toiletries from Gilchrist & Soames provide a sustainable product that long replaced the single use items in all our bedrooms and public toilets.
Each department is tasked with maximising our recycling, with all food, glass and cardboard being diverted from landfill.
EV charging points have been installed in the hotel’s carpark, and LED lighting in all areas of the hotel with sensors and dimmer switches to control usage.
All single use items such a coasters and notepads have been removed from our conference rooms.
